Project Overview
Zenith Developments Group undertook the full refurbishment of the Woodbourne Sports Pavilion for Sheffield City Council, transforming a two-storey community facility into a modern, flexible, and highly functional space.
The project focused on improving accessibility, comfort, and usability, while maintaining the pavilion’s role as a key local hub. Enhancements were designed to support a wide range of users and activities, ensuring the facility meets current and future community needs.
The Brief
The client required the modernisation of an existing pavilion to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment, with improved facilities and greater flexibility of use. The project needed to address both internal and external performance, including durability, thermal efficiency, and accessibility.
A key requirement was to deliver a space that supports community wellbeing, including the integration of inclusive features such as a dedicated multi-faith room.

Our Solution
Zenith delivered a comprehensive refurbishment programme including a new high-performance roof, upgraded external cladding, and basement damp-proofing to enhance durability and energy efficiency.
Internally, the works included the creation of a modern reception area, flexible meeting spaces, a café facility, fully accessible changing facilities, and a dedicated multi-faith room. Internal and external redecoration and layout improvements ensured a cohesive, high-quality finish throughout.
The Outcome
The refurbished Woodbourne Sports Pavilion now provides a versatile, contemporary community facility that supports a wide range of activities and users. Improved accessibility, enhanced performance, and inclusive design features have revitalised the space, reinforcing its role as a valuable local asset.
The project demonstrates Zenith Developments Group’s ability to deliver high-quality public sector refurbishment schemes that prioritise community, inclusivity, and long-term usability.
