Social Value in Construction

At Zenith Developments Group, social value is about more than the buildings we deliver. It’s about the positive contribution we make to people, communities and the wider industry. We recognise our responsibility to operate in a way that supports long-term social, economic and wellbeing outcomes alongside the delivery of high-quality construction projects.

Our approach to social value is practical, people-focused and embedded into the way we work across our projects, partnerships and the wider business.

Supporting Communities

Construction should have a positive presence within the communities it serves. Opportunities are actively sought to engage with local organisations, charities and initiatives that deliver meaningful benefit.

Through community engagement, fundraising activity and local involvement, support is directed towards causes that reflect genuine local need and create lasting positive impact.

Supporting the Armed Forces Community

Zenith Developments Group is proud to be a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant. This commitment reflects our support for current and former members of the Armed Forces and their families.

We recognise the valuable skills, leadership and experience that service personnel bring to the construction industry and actively support fair treatment and employment opportunities for veterans and reservists.

Zenith Foundation

The Zenith Foundation plays a central role in social value commitments. Through fundraising events, partnerships and direct support, the Foundation helps raise vital funds for charities and individuals in need.

The flagship fundraising event, The Ring of Hope, has already raised over £100,000, demonstrating the impact that can be achieved through collaboration, generosity and shared purpose. The Foundation continues to provide a platform for meaningful community support beyond construction projects.

Employment, Skills & Development

Supporting employment opportunities and skills development across the construction industry remains a key priority. This includes creating opportunities for individuals at different stages of their careers and fostering an environment where learning, development and progression are encouraged.

Investment in people helps build a skilled, motivated workforce that contributes positively to projects, the business and the wider industry.

Employee Wellbeing and Measurable Impact

Employee wellbeing is a core part of social value delivery. The importance of both physical and mental wellbeing is recognised, with meaningful, proactive support provided to teams both on and off site.

All employees have access to independent, confidential wellbeing support through The Live Well Syndicate, offering guidance, resources and practical support to help manage mental health, wellbeing and everyday challenges.

A structured programme of health screening and tailored wellbeing support has delivered clear, measurable improvements across the workforce. By the third health screening, a 5.43% reduction in out-of-range health markers was recorded, alongside an 8.53% increase in fat-burning efficiency, highlighting the benefits of early intervention and ongoing support.

Further positive outcomes include a reduction in biological age of six years between screening stages, alongside improvements in key health markers such as Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and magnesium levels. Additional support has included tailored supplement packages, employee-only fitness training sessions and follow-up guidance where required.

This proactive approach supports the development of a healthier, more resilient workforce and demonstrates a measurable commitment to wellbeing.

Working with Local Supply Chains

Where possible, local suppliers and subcontractors are engaged to support regional economies and build strong, long-term relationships.

A collaborative procurement approach encourages responsible working practices and shared values, helping deliver sustainable social and economic outcomes across the supply chain.

Equality, Inclusion and Fairness

A commitment exists to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across the business. Everyone is treated fairly, with respect and dignity, regardless of background or role.

Policies and working practices are designed to support an inclusive culture where people feel valued, supported and able to contribute fully.

A Practical, Measured Approach

Meaningful social value is delivered through consistent action rather than statements alone. Focus remains on realistic, relevant outcomes that align with client objectives, project requirements and community needs.

Through collaboration with clients and partners, social value is delivered in a way that is appropriate, measurable and sustainable.
