The Role
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor at mid‑career level to join our commercial team based in Hull.
This role will suit someone who already has a solid grounding in Quantity Surveying and is now looking to develop their skills, confidence and responsibility, with support from senior leadership team.
The position is primarily office‑based, with occasional site visits to support valuations, applications for payment and commercial reviews.
Contracts & Sector Exposure
Working knowledge of JCT contracts
Exposure to or growing understanding of NEC contracts
Experience working on or around public-sector environments is desirable but not essential, such as:
NHS
Ministry of Defence (MOD)
Ministry of Justice (MOJ)
Full support and guidance will be provided where experience is still developing.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting the commercial management of live projects
Assisting with cost planning, budgeting and forecasting
Preparing and agreeing valuations and applications for payment
Assisting with subcontractor procurement and package management
Managing variations and change control records
Supporting final account preparation and negotiations
Liaising with project teams to ensure commercial alignment
Maintaining accurate financial and cost reporting
Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain
About You
This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor who is motivated, organised and keen to progress.
Essential:
Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
Background in commercial or industrial projects
Working knowledge of JCT contracts
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn and take responsibility
Desirable:
Some exposure to NEC contracts
Experience supporting public-sector projects
Ambition to progress toward Senior QS / Commercial Management roles
